Refunds and Cancellation
Last updated 5 October 2026. This page applies to every Family Globe customer, wherever you live.
The short version. Your subscription renews once a year until you cancel. You can cancel yourself at any time, in a couple of taps, without talking to anyone. If you cancel within 14 days of paying and have used less than $5 of the AI credit that came with it, we refund you in full. Unused credit top-ups are refundable within 14 days too.
1. What you are paying for
A Family Globe subscription is an annual plan costing $59.99 per year, plus any tax that applies where you live. It includes $20 of AI credit for the year.
You can buy additional credit at any time in $10 increments. Credit top-ups are one-off purchases, not a second subscription, and buying one never changes your renewal date or price.
What you are buying is AI-generated planning help, not a guarantee that the information is correct. The app uses AI and AI gets things wrong. It is not an official source and not a complete reference, and anything you will rely on โ entry rules, health and vaccination requirements, prices, opening hours, accessibility โ must be confirmed with the relevant government, embassy, venue, airline, operator or clinician. We are not a travel agency and we take no booking. Section 7 of the Terms of Service sets this out in full, and it is worth reading before you subscribe rather than after.
2. Automatic renewal, in plain terms
Your subscription renews automatically every year unless you cancel it. On your renewal date we charge the payment method on file the then-current annual price, plus tax.
- Your term starts the day you first pay, and your renewal date is the same calendar date each following year.
- You can see your exact next renewal date at any time in your subscription settings.
- Before you pay, and in the same place on screen as the button you press to subscribe, we show you the price, that it renews every year, the date of the first renewal, and how to cancel. You agree to the automatic renewal by ticking a box about that specifically โ separately from accepting our Terms.
- Straight after you pay, we email you an acknowledgement you can keep, containing the price, the renewal frequency, your renewal date, how to cancel, and a direct cancellation link.
- Between 15 and 45 days before each renewal we email you a reminder telling you the date, the amount, and how to cancel, with a direct cancellation link. You will not be renewed without warning.
3. How to cancel
You can cancel online, by yourself, at any time, from your subscription settings in the app. It takes the same number of steps or fewer than it took to subscribe.
If you would rather not use the app, email info@familyglobe.com from the address on your account and ask us to cancel. We will action it and confirm in writing. We will never require you to telephone us, speak to an agent, or explain yourself to anyone.
We may show you a single offer to stay. Declining it is one tap and does not delay or complicate your cancellation in any way.
What cancelling does. It stops the next charge. You keep access to everything you have paid for until the end of the term you are already in, and any AI credit remaining in your balance stays usable until then.
4. Refunds
4.1 Your subscription
If you cancel within 14 days of a payment โ whether your first payment or a renewal โ and you have used less than $5 of the AI credit granted by that payment, we refund that payment in full.
After those 14 days, or once more than $5 of that credit has been used, cancelling stops the next renewal but we do not refund the remainder of the term you are in.
The $5 threshold exists for one reason, and we would rather say it plainly: a single detailed itinerary costs us real money in AI usage, so a full refund after heavy use would mean other subscribers paying for it. Below that threshold we do not quibble.
4.2 Credit top-ups
A credit top-up is refundable within 14 days of purchase to the extent it is unused. If you bought $10 of credit and have spent a quarter of it, we refund the remaining three quarters. Credit is spent oldest-first, so a top-up is only treated as used once the credit that came with your subscription has run out.
4.3 When we refund without being asked
We refund in full, regardless of time elapsed or credit used, if:
- we charged you after you had already cancelled;
- we charged you an amount you were not told about in advance;
- we charged you more than once for the same term; or
- a fault on our side made the service unusable for a sustained period and we could not fix it.
If you think any of these has happened, email us and say so. You do not need to argue the point.
4.4 What we do not refund
- Credit that has already been spent on AI requests you received the output of.
- Anything you booked with a third party โ an airline, hotel, tour operator or booking site. We never take those payments, so we cannot refund them. Those refunds follow that provider's own policy, and you deal with them directly.
- Dissatisfaction with a suggestion the AI made, where the service itself worked. The planning is a tool, not a guarantee of a particular trip.
5. How refunds are paid
Refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe, our payment processor. We action approved refunds within 5 business days of agreeing them; how quickly the money appears after that is down to your bank or card issuer, and is usually a further 5 to 10 business days.
6. If a payment fails
If a renewal payment fails, we may retry it a small number of times and will email you. Paid features may be suspended until a payment succeeds. We will not keep retrying indefinitely, and we will not send a failed payment to a debt collector.
7. Price changes
If we change the price of your plan we will email you at least 30 days before the change takes effect, and before any renewal at the new price. If you do not want to pay the new price, cancel before your renewal date and you will not be charged it.
8. Your rights under the law
Nothing on this page reduces a right you have under the law where you live. Several US states give consumers stronger cancellation and refund rights for automatically renewing subscriptions than this page describes โ California's Automatic Renewal Law among them. Where the law gives you a greater right than this policy, that law applies and this policy does not limit it.
We have deliberately written this policy to the strictest state standard and applied it to everyone, rather than giving different customers different rights depending on where they live.
9. Chargebacks
If something has gone wrong with a payment, please email us first โ we would far rather fix it directly, and we can usually do it the same day. Raising a dispute with your bank instead can suspend your account while the dispute runs, which helps nobody. We will never penalise you for asking for a refund.
